Saturday's matches postponed following death of Queen

Saturday's West Lancashire League football matches will be played at a later date following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The 96-year-old died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Balmoral estate in Scotland, where she had spent much of the summer.

In an email to all clubs on Friday morning, Hon Gen Secretary John Brown said: "The League Management Committee has taken the decision after the death of the Queen on Thursday in Scotland that all this Saturday's games will be postponed.

"You will be informed if this will affect the following Saturday's games when we have more information on a funeral date."
