First teams of the month winners revealed

CMB, Ulverston Rangers, Freckleton and Haslingden St Mary's Reserves have been named the first West Lancashire League 'Teams of the Month' for 2023/24.

All four have had scintillating starts to the season and sit top of their respective divisions.

The league's John Brown presented Ulverston Rangers with their award before their 6-3 home win against Lytham Town on Saturday.

Manager Gavin Butler was also named 'manager of the month' for the top three divisions.

The awards encompass August's and September's fixtures.

The Cumbrians sit top of Division One with 10 wins and two defeats from their first 12 games of the season.

They also had a notable Richardson Cup win at Division Two pacesetters Freckleton.

Haslingden St Mary's manager Sean Horrocks took the 'manager of the month' award for the reserve divisions.

The winners will receive their awards in due course.
