Slyne close gap as Haslingden fire promotion warning

Premier Division: Pearce powers Slyne with Hest to victory.

A hat-trick from Reece Pearce helped Slyne with Hest record a 4-3 win over Lytham Town.

Pearce’s treble saw Slyne with Hest 3-0 up after 38 minutes, and they would also lead 4-1, with Joe Wareing adding a fourth after Kai Clarkson had pulled one back for Lytham Town.

Goals from Danny Scarlett and Tom Bell saw Lytham Town cut the deficit to one, but Slyne with Hest would hold on to take all three points.

Elsewhere, Thornton Cleveleys battled back from a goal down to beat Whitehaven 3-1.

Cody Benson opened the scoring for Whitehaven just before half-time, but second-half strikes from Adam Sumner, Billy Cartmell and Lewis Walmsley would see Thornton Cleveleys turn the game around.

Jordan Monk, Jack Holligan and James Nightingale all got on the scoresheet as Hurst Green picked up a 4-1 win against Coppull United.

Liam Dewhurst also scored from the penalty spot, whilst Coppull United’s goal was scored by James McIver.

And in the final Premier Division game to take place this weekend, league leaders Poulton had to settle for a point, after Nick Hepple’s opener was cancelled out by the hosts’ Aidan Burrows.

Scheduled fixtures between Tempest United and Fulwood Amateurs, Vickerstown and Turton, and Wyre Villa and Burscough Richmond, were all postponed.

Division One: Hanley and Harris star as Haslingden St Mary's hit nine

Haslingden St Marys registered one of the results of the weekend as they beat Stoneclough 9-0, with Lewis Hanley and Dylan Harris both scoring twice.

Leon Barker-Williams, Brady Boardman, Alfie Edmundson, James Wright and Jordan Lewis also all grabbed a goal apiece.

Meanwhile, third-placed Hesketh Bank took advantage of the top two being out of action, closing the gap with a 5-0 win at Kendal County.

Dan Birkby hit a hat-trick, before Harris Labrey and Matthew Lowe rounded off the scoring.

Croston Sports had a hat-trick hero of their own against Askam United, with Dion Holden scoring three in a 6-1 win.

Holden’s hat-trick, which included a penalty, was accompanied by a brace from Harvey Parker and another successfully converted spot kick, this time scored by Ryan Fletcher.

Askam United’s only goal came through Kyle Jefferson.
Carnforth Rangers roared back from 2-0 down to beat Southport Hesketh 4-2 in a fine second half performance.

Goals from Simon Hill and Josh Leddy saw Southport Hesketh go into to the break two-up, but goals from Lucas Pennington and Ben Jackson, either side of a brace from Tom Knight, helped Carnforth Rangers rally in style to take the win.

Finally in Division One, Ulverston Rangers and Eagley played out a 1-1 draw, with Markson Jackson’s opener for Ulverston Rangers cancelled out by Eagley’s Tom Morgan.

Scheduled fixtures between Crooklands Casuals and Hawcoat Park, and Millom and Rossendale, were postponed.

Division Two: Freckleton close gap at the top

Second-place Freckleton took full advantage of one of their games in hand on Division Two leaders Holker Old Boys Reserves this weekend, taking all three points with a 3-1 win at Chipping.

The visitors’ goals came courtesy of Joe Bentley, Macauley Hopkins and own goal, whilst Harris Bailey got on the scoresheet for Chipping.

That result means the gap to the leaders now stands at five points, with Freckleton still having played a game less.

Goals from 16-year-old Robbie Sanderson and Jordan Chubb helped Dalton United come from behind to claim a 2-1 victory at Kendal United, that after Bailey Kenny had opened the scoring for the hosts from the spot.

And Storeys matched Dalton United’s feat in their 2-1 win at AFC Blackpool Reserves, with Jamie Hastings and Daniel Briggs-Calvert completing the turnaround after the hosts had taken the lead through Tyler Atack.

A Bobby Carter brace set Burnley United on their way to a 3-0 win over Galgate. Joe Rodriquez rounded off the scoring.

And rounding off the Division Two action, Astley and Buckshaw drew 2-2 at Pause United.

Wes Bajrallu bagged a brace for the visitors, only to see his goals cancelled out by Jamie Taylor and Aaron Helliwell respectively.

Cartmel vs Walney Island was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Division One Reserve: Blackpool Wren Rovers Reserves back on top

Blackpool Wren Rovers Reserves returned to the top of table, albeit having played more games than most around them, with a 2-0 win at Thornton Cleveleys Reserves.

Second half goals from Jackson Bateman and Ellis Wilson were enough to secure the three points.

Coppull United Reserves and Hurst Green Reserves eventually had to settle for a share of the spoils as they played out a six-goal thriller.

Coppull United Reserves were twice pegged back, with Alessio Degrassi and Kacper Spirydowicz seeing their goals cancelled out by Matthew Bagot and Lewis James respectively.

Gary Knight then put Hurst Green Reserves ahead for the first, only for Ben Pendlebury to level the game again at 3-3 with five minutes of normal time to play.

Cole Bridge’s brace helped Horwich St Mary’s Victoria Reserves beat Croston Sports Reserves 5-1.

Thomas Cardwell, Ben Patel and Sammy Cardwell also got on the scoresheet, whilst Danny Metge found the net for Croston Sports Reserves.

Scheduled fixtures between CMB Reserves and Lostock St Gerards Reserves, and Poulton Reserves and Tempest United Reserves, were both postponed.

Division Two Reserve: Graham grabs three in Carnforth Rangers Reserves victory

A hat-trick from Curtis Graham helped Carnforth Rangers Reserves pick up a 4-1 win at Storeys Reserves.

Storeys Reserves had taken the lead through Tom Charlson, before Graham’s hat-trick, along with a goal from Jack Butler, helped the visitors ultimately run out comfortable winners.

Thornton Cleveleys A also recorded a comeback victory as they won 2-1 at Fulwood Amateurs A.

Jamie Lynch opened the scoring 20 minutes in, before Spencer Phillips levelled for the visitors just before the break.

Jamie Jones’ winner also came late in the half, this time in the second forty-five, with Thornton Cleveleys A taking the lead in the 89th minute.

And completing the look at this weekend’s action, Hesketh Bank Reserves beat Haslingden St Marys Reserves 3-1, whilst Lytham Town Reserves vs Chipping Reserves was postponed.

Richardson Cup: Oxley on form as Charnock Richard Reserves advance

Oliver Oxley hit a double as Charnock Richard Reserves beat Horwich St Mary’s Victoria 3-0 to advance to the third round of the Richardson Cup.

They will be joined in round three by Lostock St Gerards, who came from behind to beat Milnthorpe Corinthians 2-1.

Taylor Fagan opened the scoring for Premier Division outfit Milnthorpe Corinthians, but Division One Lostock St Gerards battled back through Matthew Bullock and Danny Ormerod to secure their place in the next round.

Lancashire Amateur Cup: Rain sees sole scheduled tie called off

Turton Reserves and Euxton Villa Reserves had been scheduled to meet in the third round of the Lancashire Amateur Cup, but that fixture ultimately had to be postponed.
