CARSLEY BAGS ALL FIVE FOR TOWN!

LONGRIDGE Town moved into the top three on Saturday with an emphatic 5-1 home win over visiting Crooklands Casuals and top striker Brad Carsley bagged all five of ‘em (29, 37, 58, 66, 77 penalty) (writes Howard Jones).
And with his five star show Carsley is now the Division’s top scorer with 20 goals in all competitions this season.
While Town enjoyed another three points in their move up the table, the game had its flash point five minutes from time when Town’s player-boss Lee Ashcroft was sensationally sent-off for a lunging tackle inside the visitors penalty area on Glyn Caine and when Casuals top striker Dave Mansergh decided he wanted to be a part of the action he too got his marching orders following his second yellow card.
Chris Wraighte got Casuals goal after 52 minutes.
Meanwhile Fulwood continued to set the pace at the top of the table with their own emphatic success, 4-0 at Coppull United, who it seems are currently in free fall having already surrendered their coveted Lancashire Amateur Shield trophy a week before.
This was the second time in eight days they had conceded four goals at home and this time the divisional leaders took full advantage thanks to goals from Ryan Dodd (26), Jonathan Hothersall (68), Phil Blackwell (73) and Sam Braithwaite (81).
Charnock Richard played their ‘get out of jail card free’ at home to Garstang, who led 3-1 with eight minutes to go at Mossie Park.
Then up stepped David Burrows (83) and the charismatic Carl Grimshaw (89) from the penalty spot to fire Charnock level and grab a late point for the champions much to the despair of the visitors who had led through goals from Matt Bell (7 and 66), and Liam Breslin (43).
Lewis Swarbrick (13) scored Charnock’s opener.
Euxton Villa and Eagley played out a scoreless draw at Runshaw Lane, while at Vickerstown visitors Slyne with Hest continued their improved form, especially on the road, thanks to goals from Josh Butler and Ben Danvers.
Thats four wins out of seven now for Slyne, while at Southport Hesketh the Merseysiders lost for the third time at home this season even though they had gone in front first thanks to a 21st minute Dave Brooks spot-kick.
Stu Dagger thrust in a penalty equaliser for the visitors Thornton Cleveleys 12 minutes later and in time added on up stepped Georgie Macauley to fire in the Fylde coast sides winner that moves them up to fifth in the table.
In the two games elsewhere, both ended in seven goal thrillers.
At Burnley the home side lost for the seventh time this season - this time to visitors Hesketh Bank 5-2 whose away form is among the best in the Premier League.
That’s five wins for James Smith’s side now who are enjoying their highest placing for many years in eighth spot.
But they had to come from two goals down to do it.
Burnley’s Ollie Wood and Louis Jordan had given the Barden Lane side a two goal advantage after only 12 minutes before Hesketh Bank replied right on half-time with a Bob Milton strike.
It signalled a complete capitulation by United in the second-half as Hesketh ran riot with goals from Dickie Burns (50), Chris Nation (56) and a brace from Dave Hogg (87, 90) in arguably the days best away win.
At Wren Rovers bottom club Lostock St. Gerards, without a win or a point this term came back from two down thanks to two goals from Olli Evans after 38 and 44 minutes.
Danny Morris (22) and Carl Eastwood (35) had given the Blackpool side the early advantage, but in the second-half the visitors defence was breached again when Max Landless scored three minutes into the second half and with two more goals in the final 10 minutes through Nick Greenall (80) and Landless again a minute from time (89), Wrens continued their impressive home, form which shows them unbeaten now in six following their opening day defeat to Longridge.
