Clubs will be asked to approve a suggested date in August for the 2022/23 season curtainraiser.

West Lancashire League vice-chairman Andy Hosker said: "The West Lancashire League committee discussed the start date of the season 2022/23 at our May committee meeting and we are well aware of the 2022 World Cup in November.

"However, we will propose to the clubs at the AGM on June 9 that we start season 2022/23 League programme as normal, with four Saturdays in August, opening league fixtures will be on August 6."
