Holden is golden for goal crazy Sports

Ten-man Rossendale surged up the Premier Division table after a Luke Simpson double kept Turton at the bottom of the table.

Simpson put the visitors ahead after the break but they were then reduced to 10 men.

It didn’t spark a home comeback as Tom Hartley and Simpson scored twice again to seal Rossendale’s second win of the season.

Dion Holden ran riot for Croston Sports in their 6-1 defeat of Southport Hesketh, bagging four of the goals.

Adam Stammers had opened the scoring for Croston only for Matthew Norcross to level.

Holden then took charge and with Ryan Fletcher also on the mark, Croston coasted into fifth position in Division One.

In Division Two, Garstang Reserves made it four wins from four with a 2-1 win over AFC Blackpool Reserves.

Jack Paynter and Tom Graham put the Riversiders 2-0 up within 12 minutes, Mitch Nordwind replying in the second period.

Sam Burton was another player who enjoyed their Wednesday night in the sun with all three goals in Euxton Villa Reserves 3-2 win at Stoneclough. Max McNulty and Robbie Capps were on the scoresheet for the hosts.

And in Division One Reserve, two goals in the last three minutes turned the match in Coppull Reserves’ favour over CMB.

CMB had led through Jimmy Winteringham but Daniel Hallam levelled on 87 minutes and Scott Hendy won it for Coppull as the clock struck 90.
