Premier Division: High-scoring drama for title-chasing duo

CMB and Burscough Richmond went into Saturday’s fixtures as the Premier Division’s top two, separated only by goal difference, and both were involved in thrilling clashes this weekend.

CMB met Slyne with Hest, and twice trailed in the first half, with Joe Wareing and Danny Dixon netting either side of Daniel Locke’s equaliser.

However, the league leaders would turn on the style after the break, with goals from Ben Thornton, Charlie Scholes and a Daniel Crook double securing what would ultimately be a 5-2 win for CMB.

It was another topsy-turvy affair at Coppull United, who eventually triumphed 4-3 over second-placed Burscough Richmond.
