Fulwood and Rossendale hit six to stay on course

Just eight games survived the weather on a blustery Saturday - but we now know our first cup final line-up, with pictures of Burscough Richmond v Tempest United by ALAN WALKER.

Fulwood Amateurs Reserves made it a week to remember for the club with a resounding win to fire them into the Stewart Rowe Memorial Cup final.

After their first team made the Lancashire FA Shield final on Wednesday night, it was time for the reserve side to shine and they did just that, dispatching Eagley Res 6-0 in the semi-final.

Reece Jones, Cory Gill, Joe Collins, Hugo Strand and Lucas Worswick were among the scorers and Fulwood will now face Hesketh Bank Res in the final on Monday May 6 at Blackpool Wren Rovers.

In league action, Rossendale blew away Hurst Green by the same scoreline to stay fourth in the Premier Division.

Oliver Williams grabbed a hat-trick and further goals from Scott Wylie, Regan O’Brien and Simon Nangle completed their fifth straight win.

Burscough Richmond are hot on their heels in fifth after a 2-1 win over Tempest United.

Close range headers from Finn Turner and James Walker put the home side two up at the break. A Sam Parkinson penalty reduced the arrears but they couldn’t find an equaliser.

In Division One, Southport Hesketh’s relegation was confirmed with a 3-0 reverse against Lytham Town.

Ross Ainsworth broke the deadlock and Lachlan Best and Tom Eastham sealed the three points.

Croston Sports are still in danger of falling through the relegation trapdoor after a 2-1 defeat to Ulverston Rangers.

Croston had led through Harvey Parker but two quickfire goals from Sean Mooney and Tyler Chester turned the game around.

Walney Island kept alive their hopes of promotion from Division Two with a 2-1 at Hawcoat Park.

Reece Cresswell fired Hawcoat ahead from the spot with Sam Hayes levelling before the break. Hayden Skyme then got the decisive goal three minutes into the second half.

All the action in the Division One Reserve game between Turton Res and Hurst Green Res came in the last 20 minutes.

Brad Hennifer put Turton ahead on 70 minutes and a Ben McCabe double made it 3-0. Daniel Mort replied in injury time.

And in the only game in Division Two Reserve, Hesketh Bank Res won 2-0 versus Storeys Res through Owen Cuerden and John Stead.
