Alongside Hawcoat Park and Galgate, who finished in the bottom two places in Division Two last season and therefore will be need to seek re-election, there are four spaces up for grabs between a total of seven clubs.
Member clubs will vote at the AGM on Thursday. An extra place is now available following the recent resignation of Crooklands Casuals.
Here’s a brief run-down of the five new clubs which are hoping to join the league.
1.Cherrybrook FC
Predominantly a junior’s club although they do have a team in the Lancashire Amateur League. They wish to enter a brand-new adult team in the West Lancs.
They will play on a 3G pitch at Laithwaite Park sports facility in Wigan.
2.Longridge Town Res
A North-West Counties Premier League club intending to enter a newly formed reserve team playing on their own (grass) ground in Longridge.
The first team was promoted to the North West Counties League from the West Lancs in 2017/18.
3.Myerscough JFC
Similar to Cherrybrook in that they are predominantly a junior’s club who wish to enter a new adult team based upon their current U18’s team.
They will be playing on a 3G pitch at Myerscough College.
4.Standish St Wilfrids FC
Won the Mid Lancs League Prem Div (unbeaten). Applied to join two season ago but failed to secure enough votes from members clubs.
Have since carried out extensive work to improve their leased ground since and now meet the ground requirements. Grass pitch off Hartington Drive.
Intend to bring both first team and reserve team into West Lancs if voted in.
5.Trawden Celtic FC
Won the East Lancs League Prem Div. Beaten in LFA Amateur Cup Final on penalties by Fulwood Ams Res (after winning it season before).
Moving to a new ground for season 2026/27 at Seedhill Athletics Centre, Nelson. Grass pitch surrounded by a running track.
The successful four clubs will start the 2026/27 season in Division Two.
