Division Two Round Up 27th February

Leading Clubs continue to push for promotion.

Milnthorpe Corinthians kept pace in the promotion race thrashing Furness Cavaliers 5-1. Richard Sandham and Elliott Bousefield gave the home side a 2-0 lead at the break. Tom Heap pulled a goal back from the penalty spot for Cavaliers, but then goals from Danny Coid, Peter Baxendale and Michael Packham ensured Milnthorpe picked up all three points.

Kendal County maintained their impressive form beating Millom 2-0 to remain 7 points clear at the top. Kris Clough and Matthew Clark were on target for Kendal. Swarthmoor Social picked up their second league win of the season beating Walney Island 4-3. Two goals from Graham Wilcox and a goal each from Ryan Ireland and Rikki Gallagher were the scorers for the home side.

Stoneclough continued with their push for a promotion place defeating Furness Rovers 4-1. Stewart Parkinson opened the scoring just on half time. Mark Gordon and Chris Canhalis both scored to make it 3-0 before Liam Shields pulled a goal back for Rovers. Linford Stewart wrapped things up for the visitors to make it 4-1 a minute from time.

Bolton County defeated Croston Sports Club 1-0 away at Westhead Road. Alex Todd’s 6th minute strike was enough to give County all 3 points.
