Traffic to the league website has increased by 274% in the last three years and the X (formerly Twitter) account has doubled the number of followers over the same period.

Additionally, an opportunity has arisen to sponsor the Challenge Cup, this year won by Carnforth Rangers in front of a crowd of more than 400 spectators at Longridge Town.

The West Lancashire League has seen four member clubs successfully progress to the North West Counties League in recent years with a host of clubs applying each year to join the league, which is often over-subscribed.

It is also a key development league for future elite referees with at least three current Premier League match officials starting their journeys to the top on the West Lancashire League.
