Gerards are up to third thanks to Reece Thompson’s last gasp strike edged out the away side who had recovered superbly from a dreadful start.
Connor Linighan and Seb Bailey put the home side two up within eight minutes only for Haslingden to roar back in the second half through Alfie Edmondson and Lewis Hanley.
But Thompson had the last word to spark wild celebrations at the Gasworks.
LSG are level on points with Fulwood Amateurs who inflicted a second away defeat of the season on CMB. Layton Kirnan and the two Will’s – Pitt and Sim – did the damage in a 3-0 win.
Tempest still lead the way despite earning a point at near neighbours Eagley in a 0-0 stalemate.
Burscough Richmond are fourth with a game in hand, prolific striker Jordan Lorde scoring in each half at Hurst Green in a 2-0 victory.
It was a good night for teams towards the bottom of the division with Cleator Moor, Coppull and Milnthorpe all picking up their first wins.
Cleator took the local bragging rights with two late goals against Whitehaven, Luke Close and Josh Charlton both scoring in the last 10 minutes in another 2-0 scoreline.
Coppull beat Rossendale 2-1 with Nathan Bibby and Olly Williams both scoring in the first half to make it 1-1 at the break. An own goal was the deciding factor to get Coppull off the mark.
And Milnthorpe beat Poulton 4-1 with Tom Shaw grabbing a brace.
Shaw’s opener was doubled by Henry Brownlie but Max Landless halved the deficit. Shaw’s second and Oliver Rickerby’s late strike settled the game for Garry Thompson’s men.
And Wyre Villa earned their second point of the season, Dave Rossall’s goal cancelling out Matthew Sillett’s effort for Blackpool Wren Rovers as the game finished 1-1, Wrens' fourth draw in six games.
In Division One, leaders Astley and Buckshaw got back to winning ways in impressive style putting five past Chipping.
Callum Williams bookended goals from Ellis Campbell, Dominic Wood and Lucas Gornall.
Second-placed Holker Old Boys Reserves came back from a goal down but could only draw with Carnforth Rangers.
Ihor Galona’s effort for the visitors was quickly cancelled out by Noah Williams and Jordan McGarry put Holker 2-1 to the good at the break.
But Carnforth were not to be denied and Saturday’s matchwinner Joe Jobling grabbed a second half equaliser.
Hesketh Bank are ticking nicely in third after coming from behind to beat local rivals Southport Hesketh 4-1.
Southport, searching for their first points of the season, started superbly and were rewarded when pacy winger Muhammed Samateh was brought down in the box and Joe Tierney fired home.
Tierney could have doubled the advantage from another Samateh run but failed to find the net from 12 yards.
Jordan Slade had denied Kevin Edgar twice and then superbly tipped Lewis Johnson’s 25-yard piledriver on to the bar as the home side searched for an equaliser.
It came in fortuitous fashion on 38 minutes, Edgar’s scuffed header hitting a defender and rolling past Slade.
There was no doubt about Hesketh Bank’s second goal, Joe Roach seizing on a misplaced pass to rifle a thunderbolt into the top corner from 25 yards.
Johnson got on the scoresheet at the second attempt from Luke Smith’s unselfish pass and Edgar was not to be denied, firing an unstoppable free-kick into Slade’s top left corner as the game ended 4-1.
Ben Macdonald was on target again for Millom in a 3-1 win at Kendal County as their unbeaten start to the season continued.
Matthew Puchel was on also in the goals for Millom with Louis Bigland scoring for County.
Jack Milburn also grabbed a brace for Ulverston Rangers in their 2-2 draw at Slyne, twice equalising after goals for the home side by Ryan Clark and Bevan Carr.
Askam are hot on their heels and were boosted by a 3-0 win at Crooklands Casuals, Max Green (2) and Ben Phizacklea doing the damage.
And Ross Ainsworth was the match winner for Lytham Town at home to Croston with a goal at the death in a 2-1 win.
Tom Kelly had put Lytham ahead with an own goal restoring parity before Ainsworth’s intervention.
Kendal United kept up their strong start to the season to stay top of Division Two, Jamie Harris bagging a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over previously unbeaten Walney Island.
James Thornley and Jordan Archer Nelson were also on target for Kendal with Zach Walker and Hayden Skyme netting for the peninsula men.
Pause United leapfrogged Walney into third as Zach Clark took the matchball with a treble in their 5-1 defeat of Galgate.
Pause were three up inside 11 minutes thanks to Clark, Joel Davidson and Ben Roberts.
Godfrey Boamad pulled one back before Clark struck twice to seal the points.
Two sides came back from 2-0 half time deficits to win 3-2 with stirring second half performances.
Dalton United were two goals to the good at Hawcoat Park through Harrison O’Brien and Sam Johnson but Reece Cresswell’s penalty and Joe Mitchell’s effort on 59 minutes made it 2-2.
Charlie Thompson’s 74th minute goal sealed the turnaround.
It was an almost identical story at Storeys who stunned Caton United with their own comeback.
Tommy Varey and Simon Wareing put Caton in the ascendancy but Liam Jackson and Joe Waring made it 2-2 after half time.
Tim Last’s late effort confirmed the three points for Storeys who are now sixth.
They are just ahead of Euxton Villa Res who dished out a 6-1 defeat to Garstang Res. Connor Dalton grabbed two either side of Thomas Henderson’s effort for Euston with Dan Pye replying.
Further goals from Mackenzie Brown and Liam McNally made it 5-1 before Henderson added the cherry.
And finally, Thornton Cleveleys Res got their first win of the season beating Charnock Richard Res 4-0.
Joe Hulme got two and Dan Sumner was also on the scoresheet as Thornton led 3-0 at the break. Sam Cross then made it four which is how it stayed.
