Wednesday round-up: Kendal County miss chance to boost survival hopes

Three games were played on a lovely spring evening in the West Lancashire League.

Had Kendal County won at Lostock St Gerards, they would have been equal on points with Horwich St Mary's with one game to avoid the trapdoor from Division One.

But they were held 0-0 by mid-table Gerards, meaning they will have to win their final game to have a chance of staying up.

And that will be no easy task as they face Wyre Villa on Tuesday April 26, who are aiming for promotion to the Premier Division.

But it could be immaterial if Horwich beat Hawcoat Park at home on Saturday.

In Division Two, Burnley United beat Garstang Res 2-1. Dale Goldsborough gave them an early lead but they were pegged back by Jake Baldwin.

Joe Rodriguez grabbed the winner five minutes after the break.

And in Division One Reserves, Turton beat Horwich St Mary's 3-1.
The home side were three goals to the good thanks to Ryan Farnworth and a Tom Howling double.

Alex McKenzie replied from the spot in the second period.
