Statement: Burnley United

General Secretary John Brown has provided an update on what happens in Division Two following the resignation of Burnley United.

Mr Brown said: "The West Lancashire Football League, having taken guidance from the LFA, and in line with the League Rules, have charged Burnley United for failing to fulfil their fixtures.

"The league will award three points to both Dalton United and Holker OB Res due to Burnley United not completing the season, or more specifically, not playing the two games required to complete the season.

"Both will include no goals and be recorded as 'home walkover' as both fixtures were away fixtures for Burnley United."

If a team has not completed 75% of their fixtures then their results are expunged. However, Burnley United had completed 28 of their 30 scheduled league fixtures.
