Sean Rothwell set the ball rolling in the first half and Adam Sharrock, Mitchell Davenport and a Nick Skelly double sealed the points, Kennedy Corvelli replying for the visitors.

Thornton proved too strong for Lostock St Gerards, scoring four times in the second half to sit pretty in the embryonic table.

Lytham Town recovered from conceding a first minute goal to Freckleton’s Graham Lyons to win 2-1.

Adam Zyda and a late Kian Kelly goal completed the turnaround.

Adam Skinner’s goal on the stroke of half-time earned Thornton Cleveleys A a 1-0 win over Hesketh Bank while Wayne Beswick was also the difference in Storey’s 1-0 victory over Carnforth Rangers.

Rossendale A completed a 5-1 win over Fulwood A thanks largely to a Nathan Watson hat-trick.
