Leyland United

By Chris Wight

Managerial Change at Leyland.

It is with regret that Leyland United have had to accept the resignation of their 1st team manager Kenny Mayers due to personal reasons. Mayers joined the club in the 2013/14 season achieving a creditable 4th spot in the league and guiding the team to a Challenge Cup final victory against Walney Island. Last season saw United finish 6th, their worst position since joining the league 3 seasons ago. The Club would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation for the work Kenny has done in his time at the Club.
However, the Club is delighted to announce that Darryl McCarty, an experienced former player at the club will take the managers position with Craig Boothby as his assistant and coach. We wish them both good luck in their new roles.

Stuart Boothby.
