Weather Dents Fixtures.

The weather was again the winner this weekend with only three matches surviving involving Division One teams – 1 in the league and 2 in the Presidents Cup.

The Lytham Town versus Ladybridge fixture was switched to the artificial turf surface at Chew Moor, Lostock (home of Ladybridge FC)
Harry Brazel opened the scoring on the half hour mark for Ladybridge but Rob Nunnen equalised for Lytham just before half time. In a closely fought second half Russ Ellison scored a 65th minute goal to secure all 3 points for Ladybridge.
Ladybridge are in third place in the table level on points with 2nd placed Burscough Richmond and three points behind top team Turton. Unfortunately they only have 5 games left to play. Turton have 11 and Burscough 9 matches left.

In the Presidents Cup Second Round Wyre Villa entertained Turton and it was the latter who progressed to the Semi Finals in April.
After a scoreless first half Keiron Sisson put Turton ahead just after the restart. Ali Dickson added a second on 58 minutes and then his second on 80 minutes giving Turton a comfortable 3-0 victory.

In the other Second Round tie Mill Hill St Peters and Haslingden St Marys scored seven goals between them with Haslingden eventually emerging victorious 4-3 and also progressing to the Semi Final. Mill Hill went in at half time two goals to the good after a brace from Liam Hoyle in the 28th and 38th minutes.
The second half was a different story with 3 goals arriving in 3 mad minutes – 2 for Haslingden in the 57th (Daryl Holland) and 59th (Jay Hollett) along with a Mill Hill penalty converted by Ben Singleton also in the 59th minute – 3 goals to 2.
Nick Clements equalised in the 62nd minute and then scored the winner himself in the 78th minute.
