'GroundhopUK' link with West Lancs extended to fourth year

A total of 2,705 spectators attended nine matches across the league over the Bank Holiday weekend following on from last season's inaugural hop.

Host clubs Coppull, Caton, Storeys, Galgate, Stoneclough, Eagley, Turton, Haslingden St Mary's and Rossendale were genial hosts over the four days.

The initial link up was meant to be over three seasons - ending in August 2027.

But it has now been extended to four years allowing more clubs to host matches and make some welcome revenue from increased attendances.

League chairman Andy Hosker said: "It's been another great event and well done to our all clubs for the effort they have all put in.

"The weather wasn't as great as last year but everyone has enjoyed it and we're delighted we've extended the link with Groundhop UK to four years.

"Planning is already underway for next season."
