The Barrow-based club said due to a lack of players, they were no longer able to 'sustain a team at this level'.
In an email to the league, secretary Tony Rooney said: "Hawcoat Park has enjoyed our time within the league, with some success in the past, and hope the league continues to prosper and wish to pass on our thanks to the committee and clubs for some fond memories and lifelong friends gained over the decades."
The Division Two side's record has been expunged with the division running with 14 sides - so 26 league matches - for the remainder of the season.
