Holders Tempest march on while Rossendale romp into semis

Premier Division: Super Smith spearheads Wyre Villa win

Wyre Villa further eased any fears of relegation this weekend, as they claimed a 4-0 victory at Vickerstown.

Luke Smith netted a hat-trick for the visitors, whilst Maleck Tanou also got on the scoresheet in a win that lifts Wyre Villa up to 12th, albeit having played more than most around them.

Elsewhere, leaders Burscough Richmond capitalised on one of their two games in hand on second-placed CMB to move three points clear at the top.

Raj Singh-Uppal scored all three of Burscough Richmond’s goals, including one from the penalty spot and an 89th minute winner, as they beat Lytham Town 3-2.

Lytham Town’s goals were scored by Ross Ainsworth and Danny Scarlett.

David Cartmell, Oliver Wilkinson and Lewis Walmsley grabbed a goal each as Thornton Cleveleys beat Hurst Green 3-0, a result which leaves their side fifth in the table.

Meanwhile, Fulwood Amateurs are fourth after a 3-1 win at Whitehaven, which came courtesy of a Leighton Kirnon strike and two own goals.

Owen Woodburn was the scorer for Whitehaven.

Division One: Lostock St Gerards extend lead at top

Lostock St Gerards now enjoy a five-point advantage at the Division One summit, that’s after Andrew Leggett’s goal handed them a 1-0 victory at Askam United.

There was also a significant result at the other end of the table, as Hawcoat Park cut the gap safety with a 3-1 win over Horwich St Mary’s Victoria.

Goals from Sam Johnson, Matthew Pickering and a Sam Beattie penalty helped Hawcoat Park come back to seal the three points after Alex Mackenzie had opened the scoring for Horwich St Mary’s Victoria.

In the final Division One game of the weekend, Josh Cronin scored the only goal as Ulverston Rangers won 1-0 at Croston Sports.

Division Two: Storeys stun league leaders

It was another potentially decisive week in the Division Two title race, as Storeys beat league leaders Holker Old Boys Reserves 6-1.

Luke Barmby bagged a treble, whilst James Hastings, Tim Last and Jake Dickson also got on the scoresheet for Storeys.

Faryl Foster got Holker Old Boys Reserves’ only goal.

That result provides Freckleton, who beat its current occupants in their last league outing, an opportunity to wrestle control of top spot when they return to Division Two action next weekend.

Elsewhere, Kendal United also scored six as they registered an impressive away victory at Pause United.

Matthew Kennedy scored twice to set the visitors on their way, before goals from Bailey Kenny, George Key, Jamie Harris and Daniel Craig completed the 6-0 win.

James Bailey was at his brilliant best as Walney Island beat Garstang Reserves 4-1.

Bailey scored three of his side’s four goals, whilst Zach Walker also found the net.

Garstang Reserves’ only goal came via an own goal.

That result leaves Walney Island fourth in the table, and the team sat directly above also tasted victory, as third-placed Burnley United beat Charnock Richard Reserves 2-0 thanks to goals from Dale Goldsborough and Luke Pickles.

And finally in Division Two, AFC Blackpool Reserves registered a 4-1 win over Galgate, with goals from Frankie Ball, Joe Hargreaves, George Byrne and Tyler Hallam.

Sam Senior got Galgate’s only goal of the game.

Division One Reserve: Leaders leave it late

Lostock St Gerards Reserves are now three points clear at the top of the table after victory on Saturday, but would have to wait until stoppage time to secure a 1-0 win over Coppull United Reserves.

Johnny Wilding’s penalty eventually broke the deadlock in the 92nd minute.

It was a rather more straightforward afternoon for Thornton Cleveleys Reserves, who won 6-1 at Horwich St Mary’s Victoria Reserves.

Danny Sumner scored a hat-trick, whilst Eddie Pell, Gianluca Barrea and Tommy Dollin also got on the scoresheet, with the latter netting from the penalty spot.

Meanwhile, seventh triumphed over sixth as Tempest United Reserves beat Turton Reserves 3-1 thanks to goals from Hadlie Russell, Jack Morris and a Nathan Monson penalty.

Cole Exley netted Turton Reserves’ only goal.

Division Two Reserve: Rossendale Reserves record lone victory

Goals from Milan Tinat and Rico Gavan sealed a 2-0 win for Rossendale Reserves against Lytham Town Reserves.

Meanwhile, in the only other game in the division this weekend, Carnforth Rangers Reserves and Milnthorpe Corinthians Reserves played out a 1-1 draw.

Kieran Gorton opened the scoring for Carnforth Rangers Reserves after 72 minutes, only to see his effort cancelled out by Tom Pearson just six minutes later.

Richardson Cup: Rossendale claim Premier Division scalp

Rossendale registered arguably the standout result of the Richardson Cup quarter-finals, as won 3-0 at Premier Division side Blackpool Wren Rovers.

Simon Nangle, Jordan Hilton and Tom Hulme were all on target as the Division One outfit booked their place in the final four.

Slyne with Hest eventually triumphed 5-3 against Chipping in a thrilling cup tie.

Robbie Mooring scored twice for Slyne with Hest, whilst Rob Slinger, Danny Dixon and Reece Pearce also got on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Harris Bailey bagged a brace for Chipping, with Gregg Trimbell also grabbing a goal as the Division Two side put up a valiant effort against Premier Division opposition.

CMB also saw off a Division Two opponent, as they beat Freckleton 4-0.

Dylan Winstanley opened the scoring, before Ben Thornton went on to score a hat-trick.

And completing the semi-final line-up are Tempest United, who beat Turton 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jordan Coop.

Presidents Cup: Eagley edge Premier Division Coppull United
Division One side Eagley advanced to the next round of the Presidents Cup in dramatic fashion, triumphing 5-3 on penalties against Coppull United.

The Premier Division outfit looked to be heading through to round three thanks to a 58th minute Mohammed Patel goal.

However, in the 92nd minute, Zach Brown-Karanga would find an equaliser for Eagley, who would go on to seal victory in the shootout.

A Nick Hepple hat-trick helped Poulton record a 5-0 win over Cartmel, with Mitchell Cheetham and Max Landless also grabbing a goal each.

Also heading into the third round are Haslingden St Mary’s, who came from behind to beat Astley and Buckshaw 2-1.

Astley and Buckshaw, who stunned the competition by beating Burscough Richmond in round one, looked to be on their way to another shock when Liam Bamber gave them the lead 10 minutes in.

However, two goals in four minutes from Sam Holt and Jordan Lewis ensured Haslingden St Mary’s a spot in the next round.

Challenge Cup: Hesketh Bank breeze into round three

Hesketh Bank ensured safe passage through the second round of the Challenge Cup with a 6-1 win over Stoneclough.

Tom Smyth scored twice, with Hesketh Bank’s other goals coming courtesy of Liam Hayton, Luke Smith, David Brooks and an own goal.

Dean Smethurst was the scorer for Stoneclough.

Dalton United are also through after they won 3-1 at Euxton Villa Reserves.

Robbie McMurdo netted a brace either side of a goal from Lewis Taylor, whilst Liam McNally got Euxton Villa Reserves’ only goal.

The final two challenge cup ties were both settled on penalties.

Kendal County overcame Crooklands Casuals 7-6 on spot kicks after Matthew Casson had his opener cancelled out by Ryan Rodgers.
Meanwhile, Carnforth Rangers won their shootout 4-3 after a goalless game against Millom.

Stewart Rowe Memorial Cup: Final showdown set in Stewart Rowe Memorial Cup

Hurst Green Reserves booked their place in the final of the Stewart Rowe Memorial Cup with a 2-1 over CMB Reserves.

A pair of penalties from Andrew Tinker and Josh Pope had the game tied at 1-1, before Sam Whittaker netted what would prove to be the winning goal.

Hurst Green Reserves will be joined in the final by Blackpool Wren Rovers Reserves, who saw off Haslingden St Marys Reserves 1-0.

Westmorland Senior Cup: Milnthorpe Corinthians denied final place

Milnthorpe Corinthians were narrowly knocked out at the semi-final stage of the Westmorland Senior Cup, falling 2-1 to Kendal Town.
