Slyne resign from league due to lack of players

The Lancaster-based club was unable to raise a side for Saturday's Division One match versus Ulverston Rangers and have made the decision to fold after 69 years' existence.

In an email to the league, chairman Mark Joyce and secretary Dave Passant spoke of their sadness at having to make the decision, apologising for the impact on the league and other Division One clubs.

They added: "We thank you for all your support, advice and friendship over the past number of years and wish you all well in the future."

Slyne's record will be expunged and the division will run with 13 teams.
