Croston

By Chris Wight

Village under water.

Croston Sports Club is currently being used as the flood disaster evacuation centre and is providing refuge and refreshments for residents and volunteers.

Sky News have also broadcasted live from Croston Sports Club throughout the day covering the horrendous unprecedented floods.

Most of the village has been flooded and a lot of people still remain without power. The Club's changing rooms have been flooded throughout and the ground was under water yesterday and today.

Everyone in the village has pulled together with volunteers and helpers. We now have a generator for power and the heating is on and people have been supplying food and drink for stranded people. We have also had some beds delivered for local residents who have been hit by the floods.

A big thank you to all fellow clubs who have sent message of support. Everyone is pulling together and there is a wonderful community spirit.
