Bang in form Poulton keep winning run going

The Cottam Hall side won’t want the Christmas break after seeing off Wyre Villa 3-1 to make it 15 points from the last 15 available.

And they were quick out of the blocks with Mitch Cheetham and a Danny Morris penalty putting them two up inside nine minutes.

Max Landless added a third before Savion Fernandez grabbed a consolation in injury time.

Poulton are now seventh, one place behind fast-improving Cleator Moor Celtic.

The Cumbrians earned the local bragging rights with a 3-0 win over Whitehaven thanks to a Jay Weatherhill double and a Luke Close penalty on 75 minutes.

CMB moved joint top with Thornton Cleveleys with a clinical 5-0 win at Milnthorpe.

They too started in rapid fashion, blowing away the home side with Dan Crook and Daniel Locke scoring inside four minutes.

Callum Yearsley made it three before the break with second half strikes from Charlie Scholes and Carl Grimshaw sealing the win.

Fulwood saw off Turton 4-0 with Spencer Lucas on the scoresheet twice in the first 13 minutes.

Noah Hindley shortly after and Aaron Hewitt late on secured the points for Tony Hesketh’s men.

Burscough Richmond are up to fifth with their third clean sheet in three games in a 3-0 win at Lostock St Gerards.

Jordan Lorde and Ade Kirkbride put them two up at the break and James Walker ended any hopes of a home comeback with a third just three minutes into the second half.

The only other game to survive the weather was in Division Two where Galgate earned their second straight away win, 2-1 at Caton in dramatic fashion.

Chris Stripp had given Galgate the advantage but Tom Varey thought he had earned a point for Caton with an 89-th minute equaliser.

But James Andrews popped up in injury time to lift Galgate up to 10th.
