Appley Bridge won Division One of the Mid Lancs Football League – the league’s second tier.
Langho were members of the East Lancashire Football League and finished second in the Premier Division last season, according to the league’s website.
Galgate secured enough votes to be re-elected which meant fourth applicant, Workington Res, missed out.
It means the top three divisions will once again be made up of 16 teams each.
With Fulwood Amateurs accepted to the North West Counties League and no side coming down - Skelmersdale will play in the Liverpool County Premier League - it saw bottom side Coppull reprieved.
It was a similar story in Division One with Slyne and Southport Hesketh also reprieved.
Fulwood Reserves will now play in Division Two.
Astley and Buckshaw have introduced a reserve side into the reserve divisions.

The season will start on Saturday August 2 with teams in the top three divisions playing three rather than four midweek fixtures in August, largely due to the Groundhop on August 22-25.
There will be no midweek fixtures for reserve sides.
A number of proposed new rules were either backed by members or rejected. A full set of updated rules will be uploaded to the league website in due course.
