AFC Blackpool Reserves resign from West Lancashire Football League

AFC Blackpool will no longer field a reserve side in the West Lancashire Football League Division Two.

The club has informed the league it will resign from the league.

It follows the club's last two games, at Pause United and at home to Walney Island, being called off with AFC Blackpool Reserves unable to field a side.

Their record has been expunged and Division Two will run with 14 teams.

Rule 22 D states: "In the event of a Team withdrawing from the Competition before completing 75% of its fixtures for the Playing Season all points obtained by or recorded against such defaulting Team shall be expunged from the Competition table.

"For the purposes of this Rule 22(D) a completed fixture shall include any Competition Match(es) which has been awarded by the Management Committee."

The Division Two website has now been updated.

AFC Blackpool's first team plays in the North West Counties League First Division North.
