Washouts - and white-outs - as wild winter weather strikes

It was wetter than an otter's pocket at the weekend with the entire West Lancashire League fixture list wiped out.

Not a single minute of action was possible across all five divisions with a Challenge Cup tie at Burnley United also falling foul to the elements.

While most of West Lancashire was deluged by rain, more northern parts saw a significant fluttering of the white stuff, as pictures from Hurst Green (pictured above) can testify.
