Midweek round-up: Turton gain vital win as Wyre celebrate

At the 15th time of asking, Turton secured their first home win of the season to give themselves a huge fillip in their battle to avoid relegation from the Premier Division.

Their 3-1 win over Coppull United - their first at home this season in the league after eight draws and six defeats - puts them three points ahead of Poulton in the final relegation spot.

Both have two games left and meet on the final day of the season.

Kieran Sisson's opener was cancelled out by Cameron Murphy before half time but second half goals from Osman Karakan and Vladut Spiradon sealed the precious points.

TUESDAY ACTION

Rob Slinger notched two with Finley Lynch and Ben Danvers also on the scoresheet.
Mike Rushton was the sole scorer for Vickerstown.

Fulwood's title ambitions ended on Saturday with defeat at Tempest and they suffered another loss at CMB.

Daniel Locke opened the scoring but Lucas Weaver made it 1-1 before the break. Daniel Crook then settled the match in CMB's favour with a penalty straight after half-time.

In Division One, Wyre Villa now need five points from their last four games to haul in Hesketh Bank to secure promotion after a 3-0 win at Kendal County, Harvey Close, Ryan Moore and Oliver Evans doing the damage in Cumbria.

Haslingden St Mary's prevailed by the odd goal in seven at Eagley. Rhys Barton (2), Leon Barker-Williams and Luke Taylor were the scorers for Haslingden with Rhys Hardie (2) and Bailey Wallace on target for Eagley.

Joe Tindale thought he was the matchwinner for Askam at home Millom but Ben McDonald earned a point 10 minutes from the end as it finished 1-1.

In Division One Reserve, Adam Whittaker left it late to secure a home win for Lostock St Gerards, his 86th minute strike enough to see off Eagley.

And an own goal was enough to separate Euxton Villa Reserves and Poulton Reserves, the former returning home with all three points.

MONDAY ACTION

Carnforth Rangers were presented with their Division Two runners up trophy after securing a 2-2 comeback draw at Charnock Richard.

Luke Power and Jack Bennett had given the home side the advantage but the visitors showed their promotion credentials by roaring back through Damian Murphy and Stan Rich.
