Croston Sports Club

By Chris Wight

Manager Announcement.

Nick Beswick and his assistant, Andrew Hawkins have stepped down from their roles as Manager and Assistant Manager of Croston Sports Club. Both Nick and Andy felt that they had taken the team as far as they could and felt that some new blood was required to help steer the club forward.

Both Nick and Andy are not leaving the club and will take up roles within the football committee to add more resilience to our club. I would like to thank both Nick and Andy for their hard work over the last few years and look forward to working with them as part of the Football Committee moving forward. Behind the scenes the Club is working really hard with significant investment with new dressing rooms being installed and a full refurbishment of the existing ones to upgrade all the facilities to meet full Step 7 requirements whilst improving the experience for our players, opponents and official. In addition we have installed new box goal posts and nets and there has been continued work on the playing surface over the close season with 60 tonnes of specialist sand being applied and a full vertical draining treatment being undertaken.

Croston Sports Club is pleased to announce that Carlsen Watt has been appointed First Team Manager. Carlsen accepted the position on Thursday evening and is really excited and looking forward to his new role. Last season Carlsen was the Reserve Team Manager, so is well known around the club, and I am sure that everyone will want to wish him well.

Carlsen is now looking for an Assistant Manager to join him with the first team. If anyone is interested in the Assistant Manager position then please contact Carlsen on 07539 233686.

We are also pleased to announce that Aiden Lerning has been appointed as the new Reserve Team Manager.

Carlsen’s first game in charge is on Saturday, when Croston Sports Club host New Longton in a friendly at Westhead Road, kick off 1pm.
